Jewelry Care & Storage

  • All of our jewelry is made from a combination of materials so we do not recommend using an ammonia based cleaner like many over the counter cleaners.  Using a soft, non-abrasive cloth (handkerchief, wash cloth) you can clean off body oils from gemstones after they have been worn.
  • For pieces that are a combination of metals and gemstones you are better to invest in a non-abrasive polishing cloth to ensure that the metal is cleaned and free from tarnish.  When using the polishing cloth please take care around the gemstones as you do not want them scratched.
  • Put your jewelry on after you have finished getting ready (application of make-up, hairspray and perfume).  Jewelry that has been repeatedly been exposed to chemicals, etc. will loose its shine and may actually be irreparably damaged.
  • Showering and swimming with jewelry may damage it.  Chlorine can be very damaging to various gemstones and precious metals.  Chlorine can also cause stones to become loose in settings and fall out so it is recommended that you remove your jewelry before you go swimming.
  • Each piece of jewelry should be stored separately to prevent the pieces from scratching one another.
  • Ensure that clasps are closed on all necklaces and bracelets when not being worn.  This will help prevent knots and kinking of the chains.
  • Ensure that jewelry is not stored near a heat vent or near a window where it can be exposed to sunlight.  Heat and sunlight can cause a change in color or cause the color to fade in a number of gemstones.

Silk Scarves

  • All of our silk scarves have been dye-set, cleaned and ironed prior to sale.

  • In order to maintain them please have them professionally cleaned or clean them by hand using a very gentle detergent (Woolite) and hang them to dry.  When they are dry you can iron them using the silk setting on your iron.
